From the Vineyard
Brimstone Hill now has about 11 acres of vines which are producing, and we are constantly experimenting with new varieties. For example, in Spring 2011 we put in a small sample of Dornfelder vines. Dornfelder is a cold hardy red variety developed in Austria-German area, and it has had some success in New York. Will it replace our Cabernet Franc? Probably not, but it is worth a try.
The 2011 vintage was not very good in the tropical storm Lee followed by considerable rain in the September and October period. The white wines should be good, but the reds are likely to be a bit thin.

From the Cellar
Most of the 2010 vintage has bottled, and the quality is good to outstanding. Of course, as the winemaker, I am a bit biased in this judgement. I am especially proud of the Cabernet Franc (dry red) and the Riesling (sweet white).
